The Water Footprint at the Guadalajara Solidarity Film Festival

Guadalajara Solidarity Film Festival (FESCIGU) begins today. Until October 6, the city will host the best of Spanish cinema and culture.

Like every edition, FESCIGUcarries out awareness and dissemination work through different media such as interviews, exhibitions, short films and other activities.

The theme of this sixteenth edition has not wanted to leave anyone indifferent, as it shows us the great problem that exists around water management.

One of the exhibitions that can be visited in the hall of the Buero Vallejo Auditorium this year will be the one created by the graphic designer Raquel Lozano. It describes the Water Footprint that we leave and invites us to reflect on it.

Interviews have also been conducted with experts such as Francisco Turrión, who recently received the Award for Water Research and Innovation from the Government of Castilla La Mancha and Santiago Martín, agronomist and Spokesperson for Ecologists in Action at the water area, in which the value is placed on the responsible use of water y la necesidad de una greater transparency in management of this resource.

TheWater Footprint, management and efficiency in the use of water are points to be addressed urgently in our society. Water is a resource in which demand constantly exceeds “supply”, it is in our hands to be part of the solution and not the problem.
